The main task in this area is the organization of work on year-round provision of organizations of trade, public catering and the public sector of Minsk with potatoes, fresh and processed fruits and vegetables.
The main functions:
- studying and forecasting the demand of the population for fresh and processed fruit and vegetable products, determining the need for fruit and vegetable products in the assortment throughout the city;
- drawing up balances of accumulation and use of resources of crop products, determination of the volume of stabilization funds for their realization during the off-season period;
- preparing analysis of the supply of crop products by the regional executive committees for the purpose of laying-in in the stabilization fund of Minsk for the off-season;
- preparing analysis of the selection and preparation of proposals for the allocation of stabilization funds for potatoes and fruit and vegetable products;
- introducing progressive methods of storing potatoes and fruit and vegetable products, preparing them for realization;
- preparing analysis of the use of stabilization stocks of crop products in accordance with approved schedules;
- rendering practical assistance to trade organizations for the development and improvement of retail trade in fresh and processed fruit and vegetable products;
- participating in the work of republican and city food exhibitions and fairs to attract additional food resources, expand the range in order to better meet the consumer demand of the population of Minsk.
